Tuesdays with Tucker Carlson: No matter how long I wait, Tucker is still an idiot

Because somewhere, here in Bizarro World, it is still Tuesday.

I had begun to warm up my archnemesis, Tucker Carlson lately. I hadn't watched the show since the first week, but I'd heard good things. And a blog post earlier this week showed me that Carlson realized Karen Hughes' momitude was in no way relevant to her job as a diplomat in the Muslim world.

But today. Today Tucker had to show his true colors, and why I must destroy him. Bow Tie Boy, bring it on!

Fitzgerald was wrong on both counts, it turns out. In fact there is no evidence at all that the leak of Valerie Plame's name hurt American national security (and $100 to the first person who can prove otherwise). And Scooter Libby was not the first person to leak her name. We learned that on Wednesday, when the Washington Post revealed that Bob Woodward knew Plame's identity considerably before Libby's now-famous conversation with Judith Miller.

Other than the fact our standing in the world is now much lower and I doubt other intelligence services trust us the way they did before, no we were not hurt by this leak. Thank God. It doesn't matter if we were hurt or not, the point is that we seriously could have been. We now have one less covert agent working on WMD proliferation at the agency because of this fiasco. If the thought of the White House playing Russian Roulette with that kind of info doesn't worry you, then I need whatever drugs you are on.

1) What else doesn't Pat Fitzgerald know? After two years of investigating the case, he had no idea Woodward was a recipient of the Plame leak (something anybody who lives in Washington would have guessed immediately), and learned only when he was told by an unnamed administration official. Yet Fitzgerald's ignorance didn't prevent him from accusing Libby - falsely and in public - of undermining this country's security. Fitzgerald should apologize, though of course he never will.

Jesus, talk about missing the point entirely. Fitzgerald is a prosecutor, not God. If he doesn't know something, then do you think maybe it is because people like Libby lied to him and the grand jury. Maybe obstructed the pursuit of justice? Hmmm?

Oh wait, that's right, that's what Libby is charged with.

And the fact that it wasn't Libby who told Woodward before Libby did tell Miller is irrelevant. Your co-anchor on MSNBC Keith Olbermann does a pretty good job of explaining that on his blog. Take a lesson Tucker.

If Libby had been the source for Woodward, that might have actually proven Fitzgerald wrong. But it is a separate string in the overall leak investigation, which has a new grand jury with an eye on Karl Rove, and now on whomever it was that came forth to tell Fitzgerald he was a source for Woodward.

By the way, Bow Tie Boy, everyone may have been able to guess Woodward had received a call about Plame, but you don't get to guess in a courtroom. You have to have sworn testimony and evidence. Your lack of knowledge about law is not surprising, though. I remember your comments on "the jacuzzi case" very well, you sick bastard.

It looks like I will have to start watching you more carefully. And I thought I had grown past having a nemesis, but oh well. If I have to actually watch your show, I'm going to be pissed.
